International Workshops

hereWhen asked how much educated men were superior to those uneducated,
Aristotle answered, 'As much as the living are to the dead.'

Modern School has long recognized that the imagination, ideals and zeal of young students are vital for the continuing development of the societies in which they live. So to keep it going, we have had many cross cultural exchange programmes. Such was the spirit when a delegation of American students from Montedel Charter School in Santa Fey, U.S.A., accompanied by students and teachers of Sri Shiksha Yatan School, Kolkata , arrived at the Modern School campus.

Our principal warmly welcomed them and gave them an insight of our school's 89 year-old legacy. The delegates were fascinated by our 27 acre campus, Sports facilities, Co- Curricular activities and the number of stalwarts produced by Modern School. They were then escorted to the Dance Room where some of our students presented a classical group dance reflecting the rich Indian culture of dance. The American students performed Surya Namaskar in the Indian Classical form of dance. Their postures and rhythm left us bewildered.

They were very enthusiastic to visit the Technology Block where they were truly amazed by the creative and intricate collection of paintings in the Art Room. In the Paper Technology Room, the students were mesmerized over the different processes of paper-making and different recycled paper products. They were also gifted mementos as a token of thanks for visiting Modern School.

Later, they were interviewed by the Editorial Board , in the English Room of the P.J. Block, for the school magazine 'Sandesh'.

It was indeed an enthralling experience.
