The Sandesh is a kaleidoscopic picture of the school. It is brought out by the editorial board and their very able staff advisors, who meet daily, during break, working at full speed carrying out the various exciting, yet difficult tasks of gathering and editing articles, meeting dignitaries and conducting interviews, conceiving and laying out the cover and ultimately churning out the bimonthly, approximately 100 page issue.

The Sandesh as a number of regular features pertaining to the school only like ‘Modern Does It’, ‘Modern Collage’, and ‘Ragamuffins’. An excellent exposure to some select poetry is also given through the ‘Sandesh Choice’.

The Sandesh has, time and again, brought to its readers exclusive interview of dignitaries, such as, General Virendra Singh a senior trustee and Chairman Board of Governors, Modern School, Mr. Ashok Pratap Singh Chairman , Managing Committee, Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Sardar Bhagwant Singh President Board of Trustees, Mr. Khushwant Singh, Mr. T.N. Seshan, Dr. Naresh Tehran, Dr. Cyrus Shroff and Air Chief Marshal S.K. Mehra to name a few.

The magazine, in its portion - A Fine Frenzy is an outpouring of the students experiences - stored in their minds and poured out in the form of excellent poetry. According to the theme of the magazine, subjects varying from discipline, results, Independence Day, to nuclear bombs, find place in the magazine. It is, thus, worthy of being called the backbone of the school.
