[Clubs in Modern School]
The Interact Club

Interact Club LogoWith a commitment and determination to help the less priveleged community achieve a living, the Interact Club was started in our school in the year 1983 under the leadership of Ms. Raksha Bhandari. It was inaugrated by the Vice president of India, Mr. Hidayatullah. The word "Interact" stands for International action. Affiliated to the Rotary International Distict 3010, the club has reached great heights in its motive starting from donations to orphanages, recycling waste paper, blood donation camps etc.. and still continues. Also, through the Interact young children develop initiative and leadership skills. Over the years the Interact Club of our school has been performing imnumerous praiseworthy activities.

The club continues to lend support to Mother Teresa's orphanage - Missions of Charity through regular visits and by providing them with necessary supplies. Also, the Interact has always been committed to help the blind students in their efforts towards an education. Every year the club members volunteer to write for the blind students in their examinations at school and college level.

The recycling plant installed in our school has been put into effective use by the Interacters. Children of Class IV employees are regularly being taught every morning by the members. In addition, books and stationary have also been given to them. The Blood Donation Camp, an annual feature of the school curriculum is organised every year by the Interact Club.

Also, every year the club puts up a stall in the school fete, the proceeds of which are used to fulfill its purpose. Recently the club was awarded a certificate of recognition for community service by the Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs. Sheila Dixit in the Hyatt Regency.

Will all other activities lined up, the Interact Club of our school, headed by Mrs. Usha Bhalla, still continues to go further with the same enthusiasm and still, has a long distance to cover.....

"Have come a long way, Have still to go further,
Hand in Hand, All of us, Together."
