Modern School Barakhamba Road stands imposingly, in the heart of New Delhi, on a 25 acre plot. Established in 1920, and in its present location since 1934.
The school has sprawling lawns and huge play fields, including a well laid-out turf cricket pitch. The school has an Olympic-size swimming pool with very well-trained coaches, which has enabled Modern School to produce swimmers of National level. The campus has a number of buildings catering to the requirements of providing modern day education to the children, from Class VI to Class XII.	Main Building
Sir Sankar Lal Auditorium	Founded by Lala Raghubir Singh in 1920, Modern School upholds the Indian traditions, combining our heritage of culture with modern world teaching, so that the students develop their skills and become enlightened and worthy citizens of modern India. The school motto amply explains this statement - "The weak cannot attain self-realization".

Academics:

The school is affiliated to CBSE and has all the three streams, Science, Commerce and Humanities on its curriculum, for both boys and girls from Class VI to Class XII. Plutinum Jubilee Building	The students of the school, therefore, have been achieving very good results at both secondary and senior secondary level exams conducted by the CBSE, as a result of the efforts put in by the highly dedicated faculty staff. The school has technically equipped laboratories, a well-stocked library and excellent computer facilities.

Cultural Activities:

Modern School believes that creativity in a human being is dormant. The potential in every child must be realized and nurtured and it is the duty of the school to do so. The recently upgraded technology block offers co-curricular activities like music (vocal & instrumental),	Founder's Day Function

Games and Sports:

In Modern School, physical training is not meant to be just a trail of strength. It aims at giving the student an alertness of mind, a sense of coordination and a disciplined character. The sports facilities include professional coaching in hockey, football, manicured cricket fields, an Olympic size swimming pool, basket ball, badminton and tennis courts. The school participates at local and National level in sports and other competitions, like computer, quizzes and debates and has an enviable record of distinction at every level. The school encourages exposure to personalities in the field of politics, administration, business, sciences and culture. The school has a fully functional medical unit under the care of a qualified doctor, nurse and attendant. Biennial medical checkups for the entire school are done routinely. The doctor is always on call and a night attendant is present to attend the students in the hostel. Cases requiring serious medical attention are taken to Ganga Ram Hospital.

Golden Jubilee Hostel:

Overlooking the lush, green sports field and the Olympic size swimming pool is the Golden Jubilee Hostel - a home away from home. The students are under the guidance of a House Master, who helps them in their all-round development. The double-storeyed building has 31 rooms, a common room and a library, with the latest magazines and newspapers. The Blood Donation Camp	Delicious and wholesome meals are prepared and served in extremely hygienic surroundings. Hostel recreation includes all facilities available in the school, including a T.V. room. Supervised studies are conducted daily, in an organised manner. The students have access to Internet.
The hostel remains closed for the summer vacations, which begin in May and continue till the end of June, winter vacations during December and the autumn break in mid-October. The students are allowed to go to their guardians on weekends. Students are also taken to theatres, exhibitions, films and other events in Delhi. Excursions and field trips are arranged from time to time.
